People in San Benito drive full-size trucks for a variety of reasons. Some folks need their towing and hauling capabilities, others like them for their four-wheeling skills, while many other people use trucks for their commute. The new GMC Sierra 1500 is a well-rounded pickup that’s suitable for almost any task. Its Denali and Denali Ultimate trims offer luxury-level amenities. The new Ford F-150 is also a versatile truck, but it can’t beat the Sierra 1500 for overall quality. Luke Fruia Motors in Brownsville produced the following comparison of the two trucks to help you decide which one to purchase or lease.
Performance
You’ll want a truck with peppy acceleration for easier passing on highways in Harlingen. The new GMC Sierra 1500 comes standard with a turbocharged 310-horsepower four-cylinder engine that generates 430 pound-feet of torque. The new Ford F-150’s base engine only puts out 400 pound-feet of torque, so it doesn’t provide quite as much get-up-and-go as the Sierra 1500’s standard motor.
Exterior, Interior, and Colors
Both the new GMC Sierra 1500 and the new Ford F-150 have tough, rugged exteriors that help them handle rigorous chores. The Sierra 1500’s MultiPro tailgate has several settings that simplify loading. Ranch Viejo drivers will appreciate that it has a best-in-class 63.9 cubic feet of short-bed cargo volume. The new Ford F-150 offers an optional Pro Access tailgate, but its short bed only has 52.8 cubic feet of cargo volume. The Sierra 1500 is available in 11 exterior paint colors, while the F-150 offers 13 exterior color options.
Inside, the new GMC Sierra 1500 is spacious and upscale, especially in Denali and Denali Ultimate trims. Port Isabel drivers will like its best-in-class Crew Cab front leg- and headroom. The new Ford F-150 has a high-quality cab, but its front seats aren’t quite as spacious as the Sierra 1500’s.
Infotainment and Safety Technology
The new GMC Sierra 1500 is filled with enjoyable tech features that enhance your regular drives in Los Fresnos. Its optional 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system has vivid graphics and speedy response times to inputs. The new Ford F-150 also has a feature-rich infotainment system, but its largest touchscreen is just 12 inches long.
Both the new GMC Sierra 1500 and the new Ford F-150 have a robust set of standard advanced active safety features. However, the Sierra 1500 comes standard with automatic high-beam headlights that help Brownsville drivers see better at night. Automatic high beams are just optional in the F-150.
